Most clients scouting around for a lawyer, experience a sense of helplessness and frustration. The frustration stems from the fact that they personally lack legal knowledge and are completely unable to appreciate whether the legal issues involved in their case is simple or complex. They do not know whose opinion to trust and how to go about getting the right picture of the nature of the litigation they propose to enter into. They also do not know what kind of lawyer they should be looking for! Do they need an experienced attorney or a specialist in the area or will a general practitioner of law meet their needs? Lawyers, like Doctors, specialize in specific areas. Like Doctors they seem to specialize in niche areas within the specialty too and charge a premium for their services! Finally, what is the right budget for the case? How much would they be expected to pay?

So, how does one go about selecting a lawyer?

Sources of Information

The simplest method of finding a lawyer is to approach legal practitioners whom you have interacted with socially for advice. If you are lucky, they may even be able to represent you. If that does not give you comfort, your bank manager, accountant or friends who have had similar legal problems could direct you to a lawyer they trust. You would then, get the necessary advice on the complexity of the case and the kind of lawyer you need.

If all these sources are unavailable to you, you could browse the yellow pages or advertisements that come out from time to time in appropriate media. The Internet too, is an excellent source of information about law firms and their practice. You will be able to identify the nature of the practice and the type of cases the firm handles before you approach them with a proposal.

Choosing the lawyer

Once the complexity or simplicity of the litigation is known and the type of lawyer you require has been identified, the rest is a breeze.

You could begin with a shortlist of lawyers culled from the Internet, yellow pages or recommended by friends.

With each lawyer you meet you should obtain answers for all the questions in your list. You should
1. Find out what is his experience in the area of litigation.
2. Ask for an outline of how he would handle the case and the time frame for completion.
3. Not forget to ask him whether he has malpractice insurance.
4. Enquire about how you will be expected to participate in the proceedings.
5. Ask him how you will be kept informed about the progress of the case.
6. Find out whether he is willing to provide you with a fee agreement with details of fees, expenses, billing and payment information.
7. Question him about his hourly fee and get an estimate of total fee.

Thereafter, you need to spend some time introspecting on the following and evaluate all the lawyers you meet by answering the questions:

1. Am I comfortable with this person?
2. Will I like working closely with him?
3. Does the lawyer have sufficient experience and skill to handle the case?
4. Has he explained the case to me in lay man terms so that it makes sense to me?
5. Do I understand the proposed fee agreement and what it involves?

The lawyer who elicits the most positive response from you to the above questions is the one you must engage!

DISCLAIMER: We are not attorneys and are not giving legal advice. For legal or financial advice please consult with your attorney or accountant. See our Terms and Conditions for more information.

If you have a car accident settlement that you need a lawsuit loan and lawsuit funding for, you should know that there are many lawsuit loan companies out there that can help you. But if you don’t do the proper research, you may end up with one that you don’t want.

It’s important that you submit your case to multiple companies and get multiple offers on your car accident settlement. Why is that?

1. Every lawsuit funding company has different investors.
2. Every investor has a different idea of what is an “acceptable rate of return”.
3. Every lawsuit funding company has different underwriters.
4. Every underwriter has a different idea of what kind of case is “risky”.

Everywhere you go, you will get a different loan offer at a different interest rate.

Some companies like some cases more than others. Some prefer commercial cases. Others prefer auto accident cases. They are all different and will make offers differently.

At MyLegalAdvance.com, we don’t have any investors or underwriters to please.

Yes, we are brokers.

Yes, that means we get a broker fee from the lender.

But we’re not trying to please the lenders. They don’t send us any business, do they?

We’re trying to please our clients: plaintiffs and attorneys.

They are the ones who come back for more money when we give them excellent service and find the best deal for them and their clients.

They are the ones who send their friends to us.

And if you’re going to apply to multiple companies (as we’ve just decided you should do), there is no better way to do so than through us. We will handle all the paperwork for you and work with the top five lenders (three of the best don’t work directly with plaintiffs anyhow).

So, back to the point. Car accident settlements.

If you’ve got one, we can help you get a portion of your settlement advanced to you.

What are the terms of this, you may ask?

Well, it’s very simple:

1. You get up to 10% of your expected settlement.
2. There will be a monthly fee on the money of 1% to 3%.
3. You will not pay anything until you receive your settlement.
4. If your settlement never comes, you don’t pay anything. Ever.

It’s that cut and dry. Save the headache. Work with us and we’ll make you happy.

There has been some confusion recently with plaintiffs who are looking for Florida lawsuit loans. Since one of the biggest brokers in the USA and definitely the biggest in Florida, I have decided to address this confusion for our Florida plaintiffs.

I want clarify one thing: Florida lawsuit loans are completely legal.

Some attorneys have recently been scared by a letter from the Florida State Bar. This letter wasn’t frowning upon lawsuit loan companies such as ours. They were frowning on actual loans.

You see, our “lawsuit loans” aren’t really loans. They are cash advances on the expected settlement.

They are NON-RECOURSE loans. This means that if the settlement never arrives, then you owe NOTHING.

The letter from the bar was frowning upon actual loans—which is something we have never done and never plan on doing as this is usury.

So, if your lawyer tells you that he is unwilling to go through with a lawsuit loan because of a letter from the Florida state bar, just tell him to call us. We have sorted out this confusion with dozens of lawyers here in Florida. And we will be happy to help you with your lawyer.

Remember, you have hired your lawyer. He is there for you. Not the other way around. It is your lawsuit. If you need a cash advance on it, it is up to you. Not him/her.

Give us a call and we’ll make sure you get the funding you need.

Remember, with our lawsuit funding you will get:

Quick approvals–as fast as 24 hours!

Lowest Interest Rates

Easy 3-step application!

Call us now to get started. We have the funds you need.

If you are currently expecting an auto accident lawsuit settlement, there’s a good possibility that:

You will have to wait longer than expected to get your settlement.

Due to circumstances related to your injury you could be out of work and in need of financial support.

You could be in need of a lawsuit loan on your auto accident.

As more and more people discover the advantages of lawsuit loans, it is becoming one of the best ways to stay financially stable during a stressful lawsuit.

How much can somebody get approved for lawsuit loan on an auto accident lawsuit for?

Well, I’ve seen somebody get a loan for $400. We’ve also funded somebody who was approved for $400,000 but took $300,000 because that was all they needed.

We are lawsuit loan brokers. Believe it or not, there is a major advantage to using a brokerage company like ours.

For example, if you were getting any other loan (for a home, car, equipment, etc) you would not deal directly with the lending institution.

Even if you got a loan from your bank’s location, the money that is lent is coming from a completely different bank. There is always a broker involved.

The job of a broker is to represent the customer to get the best setup for him as possible.

There are hundreds of lawsuit loan companies. For any one person to try to apply to half a dozen of these can be a real headache.

All the companies offer so many different things.

While six companies in a row might decline you, the seventh one might loan you $10k.

You might get approved for 70% interest every six months at one company, but only 20% interest every six months at another company.

If you are looking for a large sum of money, I have seen “the largest lawsuit loan company” approve a plaintiff for $50,000 and a much smaller company that doesn’t advertise directly to plaintiffs approve that same case for over $250,000—at a lower interest rate!

While lender may not lend to cases in your state, another one might.

You see, they all have different policies and experiences, so it’s difficult for plaintiffs to know where to apply.

And if you try to apply at multiple companies, get ready for your law office to be a bit annoyed. They will be getting calls from multiple companies and having to send faxes all over the place.

With the years we have in this industry, we know the best lenders for each type of case in each state. After all, we have a long history and a database to know which lender will give you exactly what you’re looking for.

If you are looking for:

A low interest rate—there is one lender who lends at rates of 1% per month if your case qualifies.
A lot of money—there’s another lender that you’ve never heard of (because they don’t advertise) that will lend up to $2 million. And they don’t just say that like the other “big companies”. I’ve seen them make some VERY large loans.
A balance of the two—we have another lender that we feel is a good balance between high approval and reasonable interest rates. In fact, when we give our customers the option, they often choose this lender because it works the best for them.

But, remember, there is no loan too small for us. While we love to fund huge cases, we know that anybody who calls us needs our help—even if it’s only for $500.

We do small cases all the time. Even though our commission on these cases is small, doing them in quantity adds up and sometimes this small amount of money can really make a difference for people. The testimonials we get in are well worth it!

Give us a call today at 888-536-1323 and we’ll help you on your way to a lawsuit loan!

If you are involved in a lawsuit against Merck for the whole Vioxx mess which has been going on over the last few years, there is a high likelihood that you can receive a loan on your lawsuit.

How does lawsuit funding work on a Vioxx case?

It’s very simple. You are part of a lawsuit against Merck. Merck and their lawyers are doing everything they possibly can to extend the settlement time on the lawsuit. They want you to feel the financial squeeze in the hopes that you might accept a settlement that is less than what you deserve. What’s the solution?

Lawsuit funding is the answer! With lawsuit funding, you can get up to 10% of your expected settlement as a cash advance. This means that if you are expecting $100,000, you can get a loan of $10,000.

The best part about Vioxx lawsuit funding and loans is that they are very easy to approve. There is a lot of legal precedence involved in these cases. Merck has screwed itself over big time. But really they screwed people like you over. This is justice being served as it should be.

If you are considering a lawsuit loan on your Vioxx case, one of the things you may be concerned about is the interest that could build up on your case. With our company, our interest rates range from 1% to 4% per month, but the interest rate on Vioxx cases is usually much less.

Here at My Legal Advance, we have helped many people involved in Vioxx cases against Merck get money. This money can be used to pay bills, rent, etc. while you are waiting for your full settlement to come in.

Don’t wait any longer. Give us a call now to get your lawsuit funding today.

Due to my friend and mentor Rob Thomas’ philosophically-inspiring blog post I have been spun into a bout of lawsuit funding free association . . .

With the Beijing Summer Olympics closing ceremony last night fresh in my mind, I instantly think of my complete Chinese vocabulary–three words. Besides “nee hao” (hello) and “shie shie” (Thank you), the third Chinese word I know is “wei ji”, which, beleive it or not, is related to lawsuit funding.

“Wei ji” means “crisis” in English. Is a “wei ji” in your life making you seek a lawsuit loan?

If so, you’ll be happy to discover that “wei ji” is written with two characters. The first character “Wei” means “Danger or Peril”, but the second character, “Ji”, means “Opportunity”.

So, even though you may be in a “wei ji” at the moment, with the simple change of your viewpoint, you can turn crisis into an opportunity.

How can you apply this to everyday life?

Instead of getting depressed when you get fired at work, view it as a blessing and find a better job, start a home business, take a vacation, etc.

Instead of sobbing for weeks when your boyfriend cheats on you, dump him and find a better one. Simple.

Instead of continuing an argument with fellow employees at work, use it as an opportunity to showcase your communication and problem-solving skills.

This isn’t just “making the best of it”, it’s believing it is the best, thus making it so.

As you can see, this is “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” on steroids. It’s a secret that the ultra-successful in the world use when their lives are upside-down . . . to magically turn their problems upside-down. With this positive outlook on life, every problem is a blessing and an opportunity to make things better.

In one of my favorite philosophical books, “Illusions: The Adventure of a Reluctant Messiah” by Richard Bach, it says:

“There is

no such thing as a problem

without a gift for you

in its hands.

You seek problems

because you need

their gifts.”

After a little research online, I learned my fourth Chinese word, “zhuan ji”, which means “turn for the better”.

If you’re looking to create a “zhuan ji” in your life, give us at My Legal Advance a call and we’ll help you do just that.

‘Til next time,
